Eco-Friendly Poly(Vinyl Alcohol) Nanofiber-Based Air Filter for Effectively Capturing Particulate Matter

Due to the increasing use of polypropylene-based nonwoven dust masks and air filters, environmental problems that occur due plastic pollution resulting from disposal these materials have also increased. Hence, an eco-friendly filter based on PVA nanofibers (NFs) was fabricated by electrospinning a fabric, its performance evaluated as capable blocking or capturing particulate matter. The quality factor optimized NF-based found be 0.010606 Pa?1, which is lower than HEPA (0.015394 Pa?1), but higher cabin (0.010517 Pa?1) mask (0.009102 Pa?1). contamination level analyzed optical structural analyses surface. Finally, soaked in water selectively remove contaminated NF layer, remaining fabric able reused make filter.
